In 2025, the world marks the 80th anniversary of VE Day-a moment to honour and remember the courage and sacrifice of those who served during World War II. To commemorate this historic milestone, Barnsley Council has commissioned the Wayne Sables Project to create a powerful digital artwork, which will be projected onto Barnsley’s iconic Town Hall.
This striking installation pays tribute to the brave souls who gave their lives for freedom and peace, ensuring their legacy continues to inspire future generations. Join us as we remember, reflect, and celebrate together-right in the heart of Barnsley-on this significant anniversary. Be part of history as our community unites in gratitude and remembrance.

Doncaster and The Miners Strike
Feature Film
Projection on Cusworth Hall
Part of the commission was to project on to Doncaster iconic stately home Cusworth Hall. On November the 10th over 300 people came to watch the outdoor premier of the film. The 35 minute version was accompanied by Hatfield and Askern Brass Band opening the event with a stirring and emotional tribute to all the miners that endured a year long campaign to save their way of life.
